Termite Protection In Your New Home

Termites are a fact of life in most parts of Australia, and protecting a new home starts at the design and construction stage.

Every David Reid Homes build includes a termite management system installed in line with the National Construction Code and the relevant Australian Standards. The right system depends on your site, your design and your local requirements, and your builder will walk you through what applies to your home.

Warranty coverage for the termite management system is provided under the manufacturer’s terms, and your local David Reid Homes builder can explain the coverage that applies to the system used in your build.

Keeping the protection working

A few simple habits keep your home protected once you move in:

  • Keep garden beds, mulch and stored timber clear of the slab edge and weep holes.
  • Fix leaking taps and drainage issues early, as moisture attracts termites.
  • Book a professional termite inspection at least once a year, as recommended for all Australian homes.
