North shore blocks are rarely simple. Slope and sandstone, tree preservation, bushfire interfaces near the national park edges, and the heritage controls of Ku-ring-gai, Willoughby and Mosman all reward a home designed for its site. Much of the area’s housing stock is decades old, which makes knockdown rebuild a natural path: keep the street, the garden and the schools you chose, and replace the house with one designed for how you live now.

Do you build knockdown rebuilds on the north shore?

Yes, knockdown rebuilds are the most common way we build on the north shore. Much of the area’s housing stock dates from the mid 1900s, and rebuilding lets you keep your street, your established garden and your schools while getting a brand new home designed for your block. We assess the site, overlays and trees with you before you commit.

Can you build in heritage conservation areas?

Yes. Large parts of Ku-ring-gai, Willoughby, Mosman and Hunters Hill sit under heritage or character controls, and we design homes that satisfy them without giving up what you want. That usually means respecting the streetscape at the front elevation while opening the home up behind it, and we manage the approval pathway with council.

Which north shore suburbs do you build in?

We build across the lower and upper north shore, including Mosman, Neutral Bay, North Sydney, Lane Cove, Willoughby, Chatswood, Hunters Hill, Ryde and the Ku-ring-gai suburbs such as Pymble, Turramurra and St Ives. If your suburb is nearby but not listed, talk to us; the catchment is wider than any list.

Can you build on steep or rocky north shore blocks?

Yes. Slope and sandstone are part of building on the north shore, and they are design opportunities as much as constraints. Split levels, undercrofts and terraced outdoor living all come from the fall of the land. We engineer for the site from day one rather than flattening it to suit a standard plan.

Rocco is a carpenter by trade who has worked on the tools since 1985 and held his licence since 1991. He is an NSW Registered Building Practitioner, licence 38901C, and he is on every site, holding the build to the standard his name now carries.

Jo is your point of contact through the build, looking after contracts, administration and finances so the journey stays clear and calm from start to handover.
